It's been a rather busy start to the new Lions year. Our funding application for the 2019 Summer Festival has been submitted to the Howick Local Board. Myself, Neil Hornblow and Rajiv Sondhi attended the Club Development Day training for incoming officers.

On the 3rd July 2019, Howick Lions Club welcomed it's new officers for the next 12 months. Immediate Past District Governor Wendy Miller presided over the ceremonies.

Thank you for putting your faith in me to lead our club for the next 12 months. I'm a firm believer in 'evolution, not revolution'. I'm excited for the year ahead and look forward to seeing our club continue to evolve and prosper.​

​​We are delighted to report the formation of the new Howick College Leo Club. It is through Leos that our young people are given the chance to enhance and make a difference in their communities.

A shout-out to our visitors at the last business meeting; Peter Dibble and Judith Korau (back again). I hope you found the meeting interesting and we look forward to seeing you again soon.

Thank you to all who helped at the Howick Historic Village painting and the Easter weekend Sausage Sizzle last month. Going by the photos it looks like the painters enjoyed themselves sprucing up the church fence.

Thank you to all members who helped out at the Water Safety Picnic; we couldn't have done it without you. Our big three club events are over for the year, but don't let that stop us from thinking up new ideas.
