Lions are groups of local volunteers who are keen to improve their neighbourhoods. Every Lion helps with ideas and manpower to provide support in many forms. Although Howick Lions Club is an independent charity, all Lions clubs are part of a global service network, doing whatever they can to enhance their local and international communities.
Lions work is adult work; men and women overt the age of 18 are welcome to join. Families are especially encouraged to join and their children may also contribute from time to time.
Some of your time, some of your ideas, and some of your money for a modest club fee. Meetings are held twice a month, in the evenings, one for dinner and one for business.
The annual subscription for our club is $170 (paid in two 6 monthly installments)
Our dinner meetings cost $25, payable on the door
Yes, if you would like to meet like-minded folks, socialise and make new friends. Yes, if you can give a little of your time and energy for other people. Yes, because it will be fulfilling, not only for yourself but also for your family.
Lions Clubs’ credo says family and business come before any commitment to community service with a Lions club.
No, because we give it all away! Lions clubs act as conduits of resources, raising funds from the community in many ways, then adding ideas, labour and encouragement to serve the needs of their neighbourhoods.

- Dinner meeting - 1st Wednesday of the month @ 6.30pm, advance booking required
