Howick Lions pulled together to make our Open Day on the 7th October a great success. Whether it was setting up, manning tables, handing out leaflets, selling raffle tickets, shooting off to the Depot for the till, managing the AV, or breaking down afterwards, everyone worked incredibly hard to make the day go without a (noticeable) hitch.

We achieved what we set out to do, which was to showcase our club's activities to the Howick community. Kids brought in their colouring sheets, we sold a few Xmas cakes, sold quite a few raffle tickets, collected a lot of glasses and currency, a couple of hearing aids and sold a box of blankets for Kidz First. Our new MP for Pakuranga, Simeon Brown also came over with his wife Rebecca.

From President Colin Salt:

"Regarding Open Day, which was very successful, I would like to say a special thanks to certain Members who attended not feeling 100%. I feel WOW what a strong Club we have when Members who are not totally fit still come and support a Club event. It makes me as President very humble and proud indeed. I take my hat off to you guys."
